About
The Wander Lane is an editorial archive. Everything published here is long-form
reporting about places and the people who make them worth visiting: city
neighbourhood guides, hotel and restaurant journalism, and first-person
interviews with photographers, chefs, stylists, producers and musicians.
The collection is centred on Los Angeles and Chicago, with features that follow
a single street, a single room or a single career for as long as the story needs.
Most of it was reported on location between 2016 and 2018, which is why the
prices, opening hours and menus you will read are of their moment rather than
today’s. We keep the pieces as they were filed instead of quietly rewriting
history.
The British Comic Awards archive
This domain also preserves the full public record of the British Comic Awards,
the reader- and committee-nominated prize that ran from 2011 to 2015 alongside
the Thought Bubble festival in Leeds. Longlists, shortlists, winners, Hall of
Fame citations and the committee’s own announcements are kept here in their
original wording so that researchers, librarians and the creators themselves can
still cite them.
How we edit
Three rules govern the archive. Nothing is published without a full article
behind it: no stubs, no placeholder pages, no lists that exist only to hold a
headline. Nothing is silently updated after the fact; a piece reads the way it
was reported. And nothing is credited to a byline that did not write it, which is
why archival features carry the credits their original publication gave them.
Corrections and reuse
If you are named in a feature or hold rights to a photograph reproduced here
and something needs correcting or removing, say so and it will be handled. Short
quotations with a link back are welcome; wholesale republication is not.
